Department:
Animal Health R&D Center

Objective:
Planning and execution of developmental research for registration of poultry vaccines according to GXP and other relevant guidelines to ensure acceptance of studies by Chinese authorities and EMA

Tasks:
1. Building, leading and managing a group of scientists in the area of poultry vaccine research and development
2. Development of robust and precise processes and SOPs for planning and execution of research studies according to all relevant guidelines to ensure acceptance of studies by Chinese authorities and EMA
3. Work closely together with the global R&D team to guarantee allignment and best practice
4. Design and timely execution of research studies according to state of the art
5. Ensure preparation of appropriate documentation for regulatory purposes
6. Representation of the R&D group in project teams
7. Contribute to the set up and management of different functional areas of the R&D center (e.g. animal lab, cell culture lab...)
8. Support Regulatory Affairs for dossier compilations, submissions, answering regulatory questions and oral hearings
9. Contribute to the intellectual property estate of BI by initiating of and contributing to patent filings
10. Contribute to the R&D strategy for China and SE Asia

Personal requirements:
1. University degree in veterinary sciences, agricultural sciences, microbiology, biochemistry or comparable; preferably with advanced degree (PhD)
2. Three years hands on experience in the area of poultry immunology/vaccine research is strongly preferred
3. Experience within a multinational company is a plus
4. Practical experience in leading people is preferred
5. Excellent interpersonal skills
6. Excellent communication and presentation skills
7. Fluent in English and Chinese both in verbal and written communication
8. Good team worker; proven ability for workinging in interdisciplinary teams is a plus
9. Willingness to travel frequently
